Slowly defrosting

My first day back at Stover after too long away. Sat early in the hide I can see a magpie walking on the remaining ice, and a bright yellow golf ball is sitting out in the middle. The three cormorants are watching from their tree, desperate to spot an expanding patch of open water for fishing. Not as cold as i'd expected, should be a good day of work - I brought jam tarts!
